With the new hype about green collar jobs, the wind industry has successfully managed to provide countless wind power jobs to interested applicants. Currently, there are about 50,000 positions available, on wind farms or the in the wind turbines production chain (manufacturing, transportation, installation, maintenance).

The US Department of Energy has planned to cover 20% of the electricity needs from wind power by 2030. This means that new wind power jobs will be made available for years to come, so you have all the time to get prepared for a green career.

Wind technician jobs are the entry-level position in the wind industry. However, extra training and experience can bring you a brilliant career in the green collar industry. Colleges around the US offer complete wind-training programs, who will qualify you as a wind power technician.
