PRNewswire released today information regarding the ninth annual Midwest Energy Solutions Conference, to be hosted in Chicago, Illinois, from January 12 to 14. According to the press release, “hundreds of energy leaders from across the nation” will be present at the Midwest Energy Solutions Conference to discuss a vast offering of topics, including the subject of creating permanent green jobs and viable markets through energy efficiency, engineering the success of energy efficient product programs, and even tracking behavioral-based energy efficiency tools “to create lasting consumer benefit.”
Hosted at the Chicago Hotel InterContinental, the ninth annual Midwest Energy Solutions Conference will feature a keynote address from Anne Pramaggiore, the Chief Executive Officer and President of Commonwealth Edison. During her keynote address, Pramaggiore will speak about her company’s “commitment to energy efficiency and plans for energy efficiency investment in the future.” Individuals representing the United States Department of Energy, the United States Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for the 21st Century Energy, and the Alliance to Save Energy will also be present to partake of a conversation regarding the “status of energy policies in the new Congress,” a discussion that will encompass such points of interest as national building codes, carbon impact, energy efficiency legislation, transmission planning, and much more.
Keynote addresses will also be featured from Bracken Hendricks with the Center for American Progress and Randy Blankenhorn, Executive Director of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning. Hendricks, according to PRNewswire, will present viewpoints and findings on such topics as the cost-effectiveness and financial feasibility of energy efficiency programs, new technologies and their regulations, and much more. On the last day of the conference, Blankenhorn will speak with regard to regional planning’s role in contributing to the incorporation of energy efficient practices and job creation.
